Seltene erste Ausgabe. - "The Royal Institution of Great Britain dates from 1799, when it was founded by Benjamin Thompson, Count Rumford. Michael Faraday became the first Fullerian Professor of Chemistry, and many eminent scientists have been associated with the Institution. The library was inaugurated by the purchase of the library of Thomas Astle in 1804 for 1,000 guineas.
