99-4565 Stroucken Krefeld, Henry van de Velde
Attributed. Art Nouveau bedroom. Included: 2 beds, dresser with mirror, 2 bedside tables, dressing table. Original invoice from 1904 incl. photo available. Mahagony with fine marquetry. Very fine bedroom furniture possibly attributed to Henry van de Velde. Original marble top and brazen fittings. Dresser with light fracture at one drawer.
Friedrich Deneken bemühte sich wiederholt, van de Velde zu fördern, indem er ihm Kontakte zur Krefelder Textil- und Kunstgewerbeindustrie vermittelte. So wurden zum Beispiel die Möbel van de Veldes für die Deutsch-Nationale Kunstausstellung in Düsseldorf 1902 von der Fa. Stroucken in Krefeld angefertigt.
